Our friends at UCA (Universidad Centroamericana) in El Salvador recently cut the ribbon on their NZEB! The building is beautifully designed with many innovative features. We are excited to follow their progress as they lead El Salvadorans to a prosperous future.
We first reported on the UCA Net Zero Energy Building in our July 2018 newsletter. UCA Engineering Professor and Project Leader Luis Martinez (third from left in the ribbon cutting ceremony) was a team leader for the University of Illinois 2007 Solar Decathlon team (Ty was a faculty advisor). And now, he is teaching his students the importance of sustainable living.
Visit the UCA NZEB site to find more details about the building’s design and construction (scroll back to October 3, 2018, and you will see Ty visiting UCA and lecturing on sustainable living).
