Today, we are excited to release another first in the residential ventilation market. We have partnered with Serionix, a fellow Urbana, IL based company with roots from the University of Illinois, to offer their Colorfil™ technology as a filter option for our CERV Smart Ventilation Systems. Serionix developed Colorfil™ air filters originally for astronauts with funding from NASA, NSF, and US Army to meet their rigorous demands. Now, Build Equinox is proud to offer this technology to the CERV community.
The most important aspect of the Colorfil™ filters is what they do for your air. Colorfil™ is a highly specialized filter media coating that is engineered to specifically target and remove amines from the air. It removes these compounds at significantly higher capacity and efficiency than carbon filters. But that’s not all. They also change color! That’s right, Colorfil™ filters change color from purple to yellow as they work, so you'll never worry about when to change them. This intuitive, vibrant color change lets you know exactly when your filter is removing toxic chemicals and smelly odors, and when it’s expired, so you’ll never replace a filter too early — or too late — again.
