This month, Build Equinox provides a sneak peak of our CERV-IR (“server”, CERV-Intelligent Relay) technology. CERV-IR seamlessly integrates comfort conditioning control with indoor air quality control for the world’s most advanced, effective and efficient IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) management system for homes. This will allow, for example, using CERV-IR to integrate a high efficiency, ducted minisplit heat pump with the CERV2. This results in:
This integration provides all ventilation, heating, and cooling through one duct network, perfect for small, low load homes and multi-family applications. Including a heat pump water heater (HPWH) in the mechanical room and this small footprint supplies unmatched air quality, comfort, and water heating performance.
Check back as we continue to release additional details on CERV-IR and the Magic Box mechanical room concept.
Stay tuned, because Build Equinox is once again leading the way in home health and comfort technologies!

Part 1 of Magic-Box Mechanicals – CERV interoperability with a horizontally ducted 1 ton low-temperature heat pump (seen at the top of the image). This would be a typical configuration for a modern high-performance home.
Build Equinox’s CERV-IR (available soon) controller provides the link between the CERV and the ducted mini-split, allowing the CERV to intelligently stage the heating and cooling to maximize performance and efficiency.
