Build Equinox is a proud sponsor of the University of Wyoming’s 2023 Solar Decathlon team. The University of Wyoming Solar Decathlon team created their high-performance home in the beautiful Wind River Range near Lander Wyoming.
The Solar Decathlon, held every two years, is a multi-university competition with 10 decathlon categories. Six of the categories are “juried events” based on scores from a panel of judges and four of the categories are “performance events” based on monitoring quantitative parameters such as energy, air quality (CO2), temperature and humidity.
In 2019, Inter-House (Colorado School of Mines) won the Solar Decathlon and credits the CERV2 as an important contributor to the home’s environmental and energy performances. The University of Illinois 2021 Solar Decathlon team earned 1st Place in the Comfort and Environmental Quality competition event with a CERV2 smart IAQ management and CERV2-controlled ducted minisplit comfort system.
The 2023 University of Wyoming Solar Decathlon team continues the tradition with 1st Place in Comfort and Environmental Quality and tying for 1st Place finishes in Energy Performance and Occupant Experience. Placing 1st in 3 out of 4 performance events is remarkable and a testament to the student team’s hard work.
The Cowboys demonstrate once again that CERV2 homes are healthy and comfortable with exceptional energy efficiency!
