The tile is just about complete in both bathrooms.

Next week we hope to have the new computerized electrical breaker panel installed. For this we need to pull all the circuit wiring and arrange into circuits according to how we want to monitor each circuit and what is required by code. This is the temporary panel and wires being pulled for the new panel.

We’ve been getting massive amounts of rain lately, but have not been capturing it as gutters are not installed on the house yet. They have arrived, so next week they will hopefully be put in place. It will still be a while after that until the collection system is installed and operating to use the water for toilet flushing.
Part of the rain water collection system is a contraption we have made to rinse the roof before collecting rain water in the tank. The contraption is seen in the pictures below, but not yet fully assembled. It works by filling and holding the first rain water to hit the roof and then after roughly 5 gallons has collected will start diverting the rain water into the cistern. The first rain water should rinse pollutants off of the roof, so this “dirty” water is not put into the cistern, leaving a cleaner roof from which the remaining rain water will be collected. One of these diversion contraptions will be placed at each corner of the house where a downspout comes from the roof and where the 2″ inlets to the cistern are located.

The extra siding needed to complete the exterior should have arrived with the gutters. This should be delivered on Monday and installed soon thereafter.
