Jun 7, 2010: Painting, Siding

Painting was done over the end of last week and finished up today. The whole house was done in white for now using a zero VOC paint from Sherwin Williams.

I don’t know if the pictures show it or not, but the paint really brightens up the rooms. The ceiling in the main living room had a smooth coat of drywall compound applied over the entire surface. This eliminates any seams from being visible and it does look great.

While the paining was happening inside, the front walkway and back porch were poured. Still a bit more siding to complete. We are waiting for the remaining pieces to ship.

The computerized electrical panel finally arrived from Israel (shown below in the box). This will allow us to control and monitor each circuit in the house with a computer. It will replace the temporary panel currently installed.

Finishing the cement floors inside the house will be the next big step along with installing bathroom tile, cabinets, sinks, and toilets. Interior doors and wood trim have been selected and that work will get started once the flooring is finished. It will be a polished concrete floor.
