Today is Saturday and the crew came out to work while the weather is decent.

A view of the site from the interstate overpass heading North to our lab.

Today is Saturday and the crew came out to work while the weather is decent. They have been working very hard and hopefully we aren’t driving them too crazy with our unusual requests, but I think they understand what we are trying to accomplish and what needs to be done differently in order to have a super-insulated and super-sealed house. This goes for the inspectors from the City of Urbana as well. They have been great to deal with and have helped to figure out solutions to give us the things we want as well as satisfy their requirements from a building safety standpoint. As an unusual project that will hopefully help to shape the future of building in Urbana-Champaign, it has been great to see that they are open to adaptation.

Working on wall interior layouts and framing. Some of these walls are load-bearing and need to be in place before the roof panels are installed.

Monday work will continue on the interior wall framing to prepare for the roof panels.
