Jun 15, 2010: Tiling, Trim, Doors

Tiling has started in the bathrooms.

Today most of the tile in the master bathroom was set. The toilet can be installed after this is done because of the floor tiling. The two sink and vanities were set in the bath too. There will be a counter surface between them and a mirror on the wall with lights above it.

The floor tile in the master bath is 2″ square multicolor random pattern. There is a border of 2″x1″ along the top of the Jacuzzi tub extending around the shower wall. In the shower there is a tiled in shelf and seat. The tile will end at the to of the dividing wall between the bathtub and toilet/sink area.

In the garage the interior pocket doors and trim are being sprayed with a clear coat sealer. The doors are all oak veneer.

More of the same work should be continuing through the rest of the week. Once the tiling is complete the plumbers will come back to finish installing all toilets and fixtures. Interior trim will be put on the clerestory windows.

We performed a post drywall blower door test on Saturday and were down to about 180 cfm at 50Pa, so the house is very well sealed. Once the new electrical panel is installed over the next week or two we will be able to seal the conduit between the house and garage which is the source of some of what little air leakage there is.
